The sun is out more and the wind has move on sooooo that makes for a happy furSmith family! This weekend we happened to spend both Saturday AND ScoobySunday in Dog Friendly Laguna Niguel!

Did we mention we also had a bath? It wasn’t near as bad as we remember it being our very first time! We smell good, look shiny and bootiful 💕 what more can two girls ask for? Amma right?!

Since we had several walks at our beloved Harbor during the week, Mom thought it was time for a change of scenery! All she has to do is say “Are you ready”? and BAM we’re heading to the garage to jump in our Scooby mobile! That would be a YAZ!

Dog Friendly Laguna Niguel is neighbor city to our Dana Point. It’s just off the 5 freeway so, if you’re visiting, it’s super easy to get to! It also has 2 of our very Favowite Dog Friendly Parks!

How to Have Fun at Dog Friendly Parks

In our area we are lucky! All Public Parks are Dog Friendly so we have many Dog Friendly Parks nearby! Dogs must be on a 6 foot leash unless you are at a Doggy Park (for those pups who want or need to run off leash).

If your pup has tons of energy like we do, the first thing Mom recommends is to get a really good walk in when you arrive at your park. A good walk helps everyone decompress, allows you to survey everything that’s going on that day, take in some nature and to get into the vibe! A good walk also gives you a chance to think about how you really want to spend the rest of your time at the park together! Plus, a tired dog is a good dog!

We went to 2 different parks this weekend in Laguna Niguel and had a blast! Here’s some of the things we like to do which may give you ideas how to spend your time at the park with your pup too!

Saturday we got an early start (or so we thought) and decided to head to Laguna Regional Park to get some major walking in! We took our usual photos and videos and practiced a few Dog Training Core Commands during our walk!

Halfway through our “planned” walk we had to find some shady grass to cool down. We had already walked half the lake but it was getting hotter by the minute. So, we decided to turn around and walk the same path back and skip the “hot” side of the lake. Overall, we walked about 2 miles. We had planned on around 4 – 5 miles but we were happy with what we were able to in! Next time we go even earlier!

We saw lots of people fishing, relaxing, riding bikes and walking there dogs too! Everyone was happy to be outside in the warm, sunny air!

As you may know, we try our hardest to spend every ScoobySunday at Dog Friendly Niguel Botanical Preserve! We WUV walking the 4 miles of trails, listening to birds and even trying our hardest to be good photo assistants like Scooby! But, our favorite part is hanging out at Scooby’s Dedication Bench and sharing snacks and relaxing. We’ve been watching another pair of baby hawks grow up right next to Scooby’s bench for the last 3 weekends and they are getting big! What a special treat! We’re also meeting lots of nice people and we stop for chats!

Recently at Niguel Botanical Preserve we’ve shown an interest in meeting new people! We’ve always had a big fear of unknown people and it takes a long time for us to warm up to a person. But, some people are so nice and they allow us to walk up to them if we want too. You know, head scritches by nice people we meet on the trails is pretty nice we must say!

We had such a great weekend in Laguna Niguel that we updated our Laguna Niguel Blog Pages! You can check them out below:
