Although the “beach” itself is not dog-friendly, the rest of the area is – including the yummy Boneyard Cafe! Park your cars inside the State Park or in the less expensive parking meters just beyond the entrance to Doheny. You can walk next to the sand and take the path across to the State Campground and down to the end of the most Southern campground! It’s pretty hot on the asphalt so I recommend mornings and late afternoons (the sunsets are magnificent)!
Be sure to eat at Boneyard Cafe at Doheny State Beach – they are a super casual beach restaurant right next to the sand and they love dogs! Lots of great things on the menu. My mom loves the cheddar cheese egg biscuit. I love that they bring me dog treats and water! They also serve wine and beer and stay open for sunset!
