Although the beach itself is not dog-friendly, you’re basically on the beach without all of the sand and hot paws when you walk at Doheny State Beach! This is an expansive park with lots of green grass, palm trees and picnic tables – ocean front!
There’s also a delish beach cafe! You do have to purchase parking to enter Doheny State Beach. Or, sometimes we park on the hill across the street from the entrance and have a great walk over!
While you’re at Doheny State Beach you can also take the path past the cafe to the State Campground and down to the end of the most Southern campground! It’s pretty hot on the asphalt so we recommend early mornings and late afternoons (the sunsets are magnificent)! This is a really big, beautiful walk!
