Happy Saturday! Or, as my brother, Zach, calls it……Caturday! BOL! I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend planned! If you’re looking for some beauty, good food, diving birds, seal-watching or, just some random COOL surprises, check out dog-friendly Dana Point Harbor!
One of Mom’s favorite things to do is grab a bagel or egg, spinach & cheese in a tomato wrap (I can vouch this is…YUM! ) from Coffee Importers at the Harbor and head over to Dana Island. I LOVE walking the whole Island loop which takes you along the jetty and on the backside next to the parked boats. Also, there’s plenty of water fountains along the whole route which I say 4 PAWS UP to that! Plus, there’s usually something cool going on such as Nesting Blue Herons, dive-bombing pelicans, playful seals, some occasional dolphin and of course, lots of BOATS in all sizes!
Today we saw a super cool “Presidential” Limo (President GHW Bush’s to be exact) which escorted the Camp Pendleton Young Marines to the Harbor for a day of whale watching! How cool is that? I LOVE seeing super cool cars at the Harbor! This was my first Presidential car – can you believe it?!
If you decide to eat after your Dana Point Harbor walk, there are plenty of dog-friendly restaurants to where you and your pup can relax. My favorites are:
Coffee Importers (food, coffee, smoothies, juices, etc.)
Beach Harbor Pizza – PIZZA! Pasta, Beer and Wine
Waterman’s Harbor – Higher-end restaurant next to the water with full bar
