The Best Dog-Friendly Wildflower Walks!
South Orange County is exploding in color and some of the prettiest views are on the hills while you’re on the 5 Freeway between La Paz in Mission Viejo to and Poinsettia in Carlsbad. Locally, Laguna Niguel Regional Park and Niguel Botanical Preserve in Laguna Niguel have some of the best dog-friendly wildflower paths in OC. Laguna Niguel Regional Park has the extra bonus of baby geese and other water fowl plus, migrating birds – depending on the month. Mom just LOVES birds! I have to admit, they are pretty cool to watch!
I highly recommend packing a picnic breakfast, lunch or snack and taking your time to walk around the lake, eat at a cabana. Walk the other side of the park if you have time. The flowers, birds, snails, lizards and more are all getting ready for Summer and it’s a show!!
Don’t be fooled by cloudy forecasts or weather, just wear layers and go. You can thank me later – Woof!
