Scooby on the Amazing Little Gems Trail in Rock Creek Eastern Sierra

Well, ok, we’ve been at Rock Creek Lodge since Sunday afternoon but Mom forgot to get the wifi password and I had altitude sickness (happens every trip – gosh darn it) so we just ended up unpacking, drinking lots of water and chillaxin’ to a Steve McQueen movie on Mom’s laptop. (She’s got this cabin vaca thing down)!

Rock Creek is insanely beautiful! Having said that, we haven’t been anywhere in the Eastern Sierras (aka the Sierra Nevada’s) that isn’t!  But, as hoped, we weren’t let down by the stunning views on our drive up the mountain.   Streams are running through the property and everyone is fishin’ as usual!

There are amazing trails galore.   There are also ponds on the property which are fed by Rock Creek running through.  Amazing!  I highly recommend you do some research before coming to Rock Creek so you can have an idea what sounds best to you.  Click here for a cool website which gives some highlights of the trails and lakes in Rock Creek.

Scooby Moving in to Our Dog-Friendly Cabin at Rock Creek Lodge

So far we’ve Mountain vacationed in July, October and June. Although July was awesome last year at Parcher’s in Bishop Lakes, the days are MUCH longer in June.  Sunrise is around 5:40 and sunsets are 8:30-ish! We came to enjoy the longest day of the year on Monday and we did!  So, I think we’ll make June our annual Summer Mountain getaway.

Mom has taken lots of pictures of our adventures and will be posting them as soon as we get a faster internet connection. (We barely have one here).   I promise they are worth the wait so, stay tuned!

Oh, and BTW, we LOVE our cabin!  Woof!
